See below how to activate your service. + How do I pay Multichoice? Foreign citizens will have to go to the nearest Multichoice customer care office and arrange the payment there. Don't forget to take your Passport and any proof of residence with you. We recommend that you complete the service agreement with Multichoice and activate your smart card before we install the equipment so that the DStv will be viewed as soon as the installation is completed. + What is included in a one-point installation? One point installation includes: installing of the hardware from the dish to the Master TV point (the Master TV is the TV next to the decoder) and tuning the Master TV to the DStv decoder's output channel. + I have more than one TV set in the house, will I be able to watch the DStv on them to? If the other TV sets are linked to the Master TV you will be able to watch the DStv programmes on them. All you will have to do is tune these TV sets to the DStv channel, by using the "Auto Search" or "Manual Search" on your TV set. If you don't know how to tune the TV, our installer will do it for you at an extra charge. Please note that should the installer tune the TV to the DStv channel and the picture quality is not acceptable, he may quote you an additional fee for labour and materials required to improve the picture quality. + Will I be able to change the DStv channels/programmes from the remote TV? For example: The DStv decoder is connected in the TV room and I am watching program 51 which is CNN. Will I be able to change CNN to Movie magic2 from my bedroom without having to go to the TV room? Single view DStv: You will have to purchase additional infrared remote control (IRC) and additional hardware called Remote Extender (It extends the range of the DStv Infrared Remote Control through walls and from places which are not in line of sight of the decoder). Our installer carries them in stock and may quote you the price. PVR The hardware to allow you to change the channels, on one remote TV, is included with the decoder. It is called TV Link. However, the installer will install it on your own risk – as Multichoice issued a warning that it may damage some TV sets. This warning appears in your manual supplied with the decoder and on the TV screen when trying to activate it. If we are doing a new and complete installation, which includes the linking of the Master TV to the far TVs, you do not need any other hardware, as our installation comply with the TV Link requirements. However the installation of Link will only be done if you will agree to take the risk as stipulated by Multichoice. You must be aware that you will not be able to watch the far/remote TV, reason been that the VCR does allow electrical power to go through the VCR. If the TVs are already linked in your home, there is a chance that the installation does not comply with the TV Link requirements. In that case the installer will test the TV Link and if it does not work he will offer you couple of options. Option 1: To purchase Remote Extenders which are optional extra. Option 2: To fix the existing to comply with the TV Link – which may cost much more. This option is for labour cost plus materials at our standard rates. Ask a question
